DEMISE OF LEAVES

The trees stand tall
Often dancing kingly
To the tunes of the wind
Taking census of its leaves

The leaves hang open
Waving as they are counted
Embracing the morning dew
Only to barter it
For the smile of the sun

The sun emerges bright
Trading its smile for dew
Whiles treading the surface of the leaves
Wounding some driving a hard bargain
Leaving them carpeted on the earth

The earth lays bare
Accommodating wounded leaves
Cheated helplessly by the sun
At natures market everyday
Resting them in perfect peace
As they depart of this world
