I fashioned a dream of you and I
Unveiling our pasts and future
Stating strength and weakness
In hope for inspiration and support
Defining new words and coining terms
Only known to us and no other
Laying foundations for castles
Visible to us and no other
A dream we both shared or so I thought

Walking the dream hand in hand
Time dug out real intentions
Circumstances discovered hidden deeds
Thought patterns unmasked characters
Differences played new tunes

Now confusion treads my mind’s corridors
Leaving me dazed in a maze
Mumble jumbling my thoughts
Evaporating comprehension into thin air
My dream lay crucified
Buried under loads of “WHAT IFs”
Resurrection seems vague
Could I have been wrong
